This is a shot I took of a local sandwich shop in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I took this mid-morning and the area where this was taken was in shadow. I liked the way the neon on the sign stood out and when I processed the image I tried to emphasize that by desaturating most of the color away from all areas except the sign and a bit of reflection on the window. I accomplished this by creating a black & white adjustment layer and using a mask to return color to the sign. I used a full black brush for the sign, and some other areas received a brush with a lower opacity to remove most, but not all of the color.
