White - Getty Center - Los Angeles
This picture was taken at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, California. The Getty Center was designed by noted architect Richard Meier. Meier's signature color is white, however he could not use white on much of the building because of its proximity to a major freeway. It was thought that drivers could be blinded by a bright white object. Meier did use white on some of the surfaces, however, mostly to bring attention to something. This particular building was not done in white, but I wanted to highlight the bright character of the building, so when I converted the image to black and white I made sure to emphasize the white tones.
