Helmsley Building Clock
This shot shows the famous clock which adorns the Helmsley Building at 230 Park Avenue in New York City. The building was built in 1929 as the New York Central Building in the Beaux-Arts style. The building was sold first to the General Tire and Rubber Company and then to Helmsley-Spear, when it was renamed 'The Helmsley Building'. When it last changed hands, one of the conditions was that it not be renamed. The building was designated a New York City landmark in 1987.
